Sample and Materials Presentation: Shine Kogei's Wear-Resistant 'Polyurea'

Styrofoam and paper quickly transform into wear-resistant materials!

<Polyurea Coating> Polyurea resin is produced through the chemical reaction of isocyanates and polyamines. By spraying polyurea onto the target object, various functionalities such as abrasion resistance, impact resistance, corrosion resistance, weather resistance, and waterproofing effects are imparted. Polyurea can also be applied to substrates such as expanded polystyrene and paper. Additionally, it follows the bending and deformation of the substrate itself. For example, an expanded polystyrene box coated with polyurea will not break even when someone stands on it. Furthermore, paper covered with polyurea can be used underwater.

Shine Craft's Polyurea Lining [Introduction to Basic Performance]

What are the characteristics of polyurea lining coatings?

Shine Kogei is engaged in "polyurea lining." Polyurea lining refers to a processing method that involves spraying polyurea resin onto an object to apply a coating. Polyurea resin is a compound primarily composed of urea bonds, generated through the chemical reaction between isocyanates and polyamines. Below are the representative properties of polyurea coatings (ASTM): It is a tough coating with excellent wear resistance. ● Hardness (Shore D): 50 ● Tensile strength: 2800-3200 ● Tear resistance: 500-600 ● Elongation: 400-500 ● Compressive strength: 800 ● Water absorption rate (%): ≦1

Shine Craft's 【Polyurea Coating Film Machining】

Polyurea coatings can be post-processed.

Shine Kogei handles contract processing of polyurea coatings. "Polyurea coating" refers to a processing method that forms a film by spraying polyurea resin onto the target object. Polyurea resin is a compound primarily composed of urea bonds, generated by the chemical reaction between isocyanates and polyamines. Polyurea coatings possess extremely high abrasion resistance and impact resistance. Since polyurea coating is applied through spray painting, the surface condition of the painted area becomes the final finish. However, due to the thickness and strength of the film, it is also possible to perform machining in subsequent processes. Thickness adjustments through flat grinding or drilling can also be done. The image shows a sample that has been flat ground after painting (the cream-colored area on the surface is the polyurea film). Purpose: to achieve uniform film thickness.

Coating Method "IMARI Coating"

After hardening, it can be used in water and seawater! A coating process that adapts to various environments.

The "IMARI Coating" is a painting method that primarily uses a special resin called polyurea, which has excellent properties such as impact resistance, abrasion resistance, weather resistance, chemical resistance, waterproofing, and rust prevention. It can be coated over various materials including metals, plastics, fiber-reinforced plastics (FRP), concrete, and wood. Polyurea is synthesized by mixing two components: isocyanate and polyamine. 【Features】 ■ Resin created by reacting polyisocyanate and polyamine in two components ■ Environmentally friendly resin as it does not use solvents ■ Fast reaction speed allows for shorter work times compared to conventional coatings ■ Flexibility and strength maintained within a temperature range of -50°C to 120°C *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
